Whoever said that writing content for the Web is easy was lying. Don’t have any misconceptions about it – writing takes a lot of effort and is an art that needs to be learnt. You may speak and read the language well; but when it comes to expressing your thoughts in a compelling, interesting manner, you may find that it’s easier said than done.
With the advent of Social Media and Web 2.0, especially with the arrival of its most popular exponent – the mighty blog – we all have taken to writing, although to varying extents. Some of us write regularly, some of us sparsely and a few others choose to stay away from it entirely.
The fact is, whether you like it or not, if you have to survive in the fiercely competitive, content-driven medium that is the Internet, you need to master a few basic skills of writing.
You don’t need to train to be a master blogger or a professional wordsmith. Just somebody who can write well in a coherent, interesting manner that draws wide readership.
