Project Pink, a Microsoft mobile plan will be unveiled at a press conference on April 12, The Wall Street Journal has reported. Project Pink is supposed to be a new range of mobile phones with social network integration. Some of the phones may be available by late April on Verizon.
This venture reveals Microsoft’s plan to be more involved in hardware production, rather than its typical plan of developing only software. Microsoft is also believed to have created online services for the Pink phone range. The Japanese manufacturing company, Sharp Corporation would be assembling the pieces. The Pink line and upcoming Windows Phone 7 Series are evidence that Redmond is attempting to gain some control over the growing mobile market.
