A recent report revealed a striking fact that over half of all time spent on the mobile web can be accounted for by social networking sites. Conclusive studies suggest that almost 60 percent of US mobile web usage was associated to social media in the past one week, with portals representing approximately 14 percent. It also indicated that social networking sites developed specifically for the mobile platform engaged more users than popular desktop websites like Facebook and MySpace.
Statistical reports of a mobile marketing survey carried out last year inferred that 95 percent of online advertising budgets now include provisions for the mobile platform.
