Social Media: The New Breeding Ground for Media Houses
In a recent study it was revealed that social media is the most frequented area for almost three quarters of the total internet users, with the weekly population touching almost 73% of the total social networking usage.
Though watching television still tops the social media activities, Facebook follows close behind on the list. The social media games are found to be equally popular to reading the print newspapers.
With the search engines being the most preferred medium for the technologically sound and the social networking savvy users to resource information about products and services, the usage of socia
l media becomes especially important when, they are on the lookout for specific items of purchase. But, it is also seen that blogs and user generated content on the social networks were most likely to be used, rather than traditional social mediums such as, newspapers, magazines and television.
