A study sponsored by Nielsen company found that social sites make for 75% of destinations for Internet users. The study also found that both men and women have the same rates of Internet usage. Weekly social media users constitute about 73% of the entire population in the U.S.
Facebook is the second favorite destination for daily media related activities. Search engines are at the top place (30%) for finding information about services and products. Blogs, social networking sites, and user-generated content are preferred sources for tips and for advice (25%), than newspapers, magazines, or television.
